By plane

Amerigo Vespucci Airport (Peretola) is situated on the north-west outskirts of Florence, just 4 km from the city center. The Airport is connected to some of Europe's major airports and with  there are also flights to and from the following Italian cities: Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Milan Malpensa, Olbia, Palermo, Rome Fiumicino, Turin and Verona.
It takes about 20 minutes to reach the bus station situated in front of the central railway station (S.M. Novella).
Pisa's Galilei Airport is about 80 kilometres from Florence. There are direct flights from the most important European and Italian airports. The airport is linked to Florence by rail and road: a direct train service runs from the airport to Florence central railway station (Firenze S.M.N.), and there is also a TerraVision bus service

By train

The city's main railway station is Firenze Santa Maria Novella (abbreviated as Firenze SMN). Situated in the city centre, it is conveniently close to the major tourist attractions as well as to the main exhibition and trade centers. The station area is also the principal node for buses serving the city and the surrounding area.
The second most important station is Firenze Campo di Marte which is being used increasingly for national and international train services. The Campo di Marte train station is just outside the main road ring (boulevard) that surrounds the historical city center (the viali circonvalazione) and is next to the city's Artemio Franchi stadium.

By car

Florence is connected by 2 Highways: A11 and A1 and some Major Road (Fi-Pi-Li) or Firenze-Siena. 
If you arrive from Milan, the best way is to take A1 Milan -Bologna -Florence, exit Firenze Nord, and the follow the yellow signs to Center.
If you arrive from Genova or France take A12 until Viareggio, the Follow A11 to Florence. Firenze Nord exit.
If you arrive from Rome, A1 Rome -Milan, Firenze Sud exit, the follow the signs.
On the Italian Highways the speed limit is 130 Km/h
